Our History
The story of Peoples Bank is deeply rooted in the local community. Founded in 1921 in Lynden, Washington, our institution emerged from the collective vision of townspeople seeking a competitive choice to meet their banking needs.
As we did over 100 years ago, we operate from a “People First” philosophy. Our unwavering commitment to our employees, customers, and local communities is what makes Peoples Bank a true community bank and distinguishes us from other banks in the area.
Central to our identity are the core values established by Peoples Bank President Irwin LeCocq Sr. in 1938. Honesty, integrity, respect, and commitment are the foundation of how we conduct business and foster growth. These core values have endured across three generations of the LeCocq family, with grandson Charles LeCocq now at the helm as Chairman of the Board and CEO.
Today, Peoples Bank has assets of over $2.4 billion and 23 branches across Washington, offering a full relationship banking experience.
